About the studio

Research ByIQ is a venture studio for foundational technologies — we build seed-stage proofs of concept and spin each one out as its own company.

Thesis

The limits everyone has accepted are the openings we take.

Every trillion-dollar ecosystem rests on a handful of assumptions nobody re-examines: how long a machine takes to boot, how many joules a token costs, how far a fab is from the goods it enables, how many file nodes one team can hold.

We fund the smallest experiment that can prove one of those assumptions wrong — a working artifact with a measured number — and then we build the company around the result. Not roadmaps. Proofs.

How we work

Three steps, then it leaves.

01

Find the bottleneck

We look for the physical or architectural limit that an entire ecosystem has quietly accepted — a boot time, a fabrication step, a transformer's cost per token.

02

Build the proof

A small team, a working artifact, a measured result. No decks without silicon, no claims without a benchmark someone else can run.

03

Spin it out

Each proof becomes an independent company with its own name, domain and cap table. The studio stays small; the ventures get to be large.

What we will not fund

Claims without a proof behind them.

We do not back roadmaps, decks or projections presented as results. If a number cannot be measured on a working artifact — ideally by someone who did not build it — it is not yet something we will stand behind.

Every figure on this site is framed as a target or an internal measurement at proof-of-concept stage. When a proof clears independent evaluation, it leaves the studio as its own company.
