Mandate

A steward, not a holding company.

Foundation for Humanity is not a technology proof. It is the long-term steward for intellectual property that benefits every stakeholder in the ecosystem the studio touches — held in perpetuity, not to be sold to the highest bidder.

Its mandate is to hold and license that IP so the benefit reaches beyond the parties who can sign a contract, and to keep doing so long after any individual venture has come and gone.

Governance

Bound by a charter, not a quarter.

The foundation is governed by a charter written to outlast its founders and to resist capture. Investment and licensing decisions are made against that charter, with the interests of every stakeholder — human and otherwise — represented in the room where they are decided.

Governance is designed for the timescale of the mandate: perpetual stewardship, reviewed openly, accountable to the ecosystem rather than to a single owner.

Representation

Animals, plants and natural beauty, seated.

The charter seats animals, plants and natural beauty as first-class parties, with their own representation in investment and licensing decisions — not as a preference to be weighed, but as a voice at the table.

That representation is exercised by appointed advocates whose duty is to those parties alone, so decisions that would trade their interests away have to answer to someone whose only job is to hold that line.

What it holds

The IP that has to outlive us.

The foundation holds the intellectual property whose value is greatest when it is kept open and stewarded rather than enclosed — the pieces whose benefit compounds across an ecosystem over decades.

As the studio’s ventures mature, the foundation is where the IP that belongs to everyone comes to rest. The charter is being drafted now; this page will carry it when it is ready.
